Join the Movement: Empowering Women and Girls through Menstrual Hygiene

On May 28th, Menstrual Hygiene Day, Fadak Media Hub is proud to join the global movement to break the silence and stigma surrounding menstrual health. We believe that every woman and girl deserves access to safe, hygienic, and dignified menstrual products.

In many parts of Africa, girls face significant challenges in managing their menstrual health.

In areas ravaged by conflict, such as communities affected by bandits, girls are often forced to flee their homes, leaving behind the little access they had to menstrual products and hygiene facilities. Migrant and orphaned girls are particularly vulnerable, facing increased risks of exploitation, health complications, and social isolation due to lack of access to proper menstrual hygiene.

The lack of access to menstrual products and hygiene facilities has severe consequences on girls’ education, health, and well-being. It can lead to:

• Increased absenteeism and dropout rates from school

• Health complications and infections

• Social isolation and stigma

• Limited economic opportunities and empowerment
